Share The Joy of Giving
For nearly 30 years, JOY has been working to create positive change through health, education, community development, and humanitarian assistance.
EST.
1996
Nearly thirty years of showing up.
It started with a simple belief: that ordinary people, when they come together, can do extraordinary things.
In 1996, a small group of compassionate individuals decided that the gaps in healthcare, education, and community support across Nepal were too wide to ignore. So they got to work.
Since then, JOY Foundation Nepal has grown into something we're genuinely proud of — not because of the size of our organization, but because of the depth of our impact. Through hundreds of healthcare camps, years of education support, and emergency relief when communities needed it most, we've had the privilege of being there for people during the moments that mattered.
We didn't do it alone. Every volunteer who gave their weekend, every donor who believed in our mission, every partner who stood beside us — you're part of this story too.
Why we do what we do.
One long-standing promise — to keep showing up for the people and places that have been overlooked for too long.
— Mission
To stand beside underserved communities across
Nepal — bringing
healthcare, humanitarian support,
education,
and
opportunity
to those who've had too little
of all four.
— Vision
A Nepal where no one is left behind because of where they were born, what they can afford, or what's standing in their way.
What Guides Us
We hold ourselves to
compassion
,
transparency
,
accountability
,
integrity
, and
community
. Not as
words on a wall, but as the way we show up —
when no one's watching, and especially when it's
hard.
Nearly Three Decades
of Showing Up.
Every number here is a person.
We don't forget that.

Beneficiary · Eye Care
She could finally see her grandchildren's faces.
She hadn't seen clearly in years. Cataracts had been stealing her world slowly, quietly — the way these things do in places where no doctor ever comes.
One camp. One morning. Everything changed. She said she cried when she first saw them clearly. Not from pain — from relief.

He came for a weekend. He's been back every season since.
He drove four hours to help at a health camp three years ago. He wasn't a doctor — just someone who wanted to do something useful. He's been back every season since, and brought twelve others with him.

She wants to be a doctor. We think she will be.
Her family couldn't afford school supplies. The programme stepped in quietly — no ceremony, no fuss. She's in grade eight now, and when asked what she wants to be, she didn't hesitate.
